Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department forecasted rain in several parts of Odisha on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the regional meteorological office in Bhubaneswar, a western disturbance is likely to cause light to moderate rainfall in some areas.
On Saturday, districts such as Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Sonepur, and Sambalpur are likely to experience rainfall.
On Sunday, areas including Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi may receive rainfall.
The IMD has also predicted a drop in night temperature across the state from December 30, leading to colder conditions. New Year’s celebrations are likely to be chilly.
The meteorological centre has stated that coastal areas and their adjacent regions are unlikely to experience rainfall. However, the weather may remain partly cloudy.
