Bhubaneswar: With just a few days left for the five-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to kick off, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Bhubaneswar, on Monday.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed Jaishankar and his wife at Biju Patnaik Airport.
Jaishankar headed straight to Konark, where he will spend the night at Konark Retreat. Tomorrow, he is scheduled to visit the Puri Jagannath Temple and Konark Sun Temple before departing for Dhauli.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, commencing on January 8, is expected to draw Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from over 45 countries. The state government has completed preparations for the event, aiming to extend a royal welcome to NRIs.
The state government has curated a special tour package for NRIs to showcase Odisha’s rich art, culture, and tourism. Preparations are underway at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar for the NRI convention, with the entire city being decked up for the occasion.
