Bhubaneswar: In a major development, SOG and CRPF jawans busted a Maoist camp and seized huge Naxal articles from the site during a combing operation at Maraduli forest under Baliguda police station in Kandhamal district.

Following a tip-off about Naxal movement, CRPF and SOG jawans conducted a joint combing operation in Maraduli forest. During the search, they detonated two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and a Naxal camp. A country-made gun and several Maoist articles were seized.

A bomb disposal team defused the two IED bombs. The materials found suggest around 15 Naxals were living in the camp. The Naxals are believed to belong to the KKBN association, according to Kandhamal SP Harish BC.
