Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida emphasized Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and its global appeal during a session titled “Unraveling Odisha’s Best-Kept Secret” on the opening day of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conference.
Highlighting the state’s internationally recognized folk art, classical dance, music, and culinary traditions, Parida reaffirmed the government’s commitment to establishing Odisha as the top sought after destination in the global tourist map.
Parida invited attendees, including both domestic and international guests, to explore Odisha’s iconic tourist destinations and immerse themselves in its art, culture, and traditions. She underlined the state’s efforts to preserve its heritage, promote eco-tourism, and empower women through employment in the tourism sector.
The session featured distinguished panelists such as India’s G-20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Lalit Suri Hospitality Group CMD Jyotsna Suri, and Odisha Tourism Commissioner-cum-Secretary Balwant Singh. Discussions covered the global recognition of Odisha’s traditional cuisine, the architectural splendor of its temples, and the state’s diverse natural resources, including sanctuaries and wildlife.
Aksita M. Bhanjdeo, Director of Belgadia Palace, coordinated the program and delivered the vote of thanks, marking the conclusion of a vibrant discussion aimed at unlocking Odisha’s tourism potential.
