Retired Police Officer Robbed Of Rs 5 Lakh In Rourkela

Bhubaneswar: A retired police officer was robbed of Rs 5 lakh while returning from State Bank of India (SBI) in Rourkela’s Sector 19 on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Sushil Majhi, a resident of Kukuda village in Rajgangapur Tehsil.

According to reports, Sushil had withdrawn the money to assist his daughter. As he was making his way to his vehicle, two assailants on a black Pulsar motorcycle approached him from behind. In a swift move, they snatched his bag containing the cash and fled the scene.

Majhi, who was left stunned by the audacious robbery, immediately filed a complaint at the local police station.

Authorities responded quickly, reaching the site of the crime and initiating an investigation.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) confirmed that a case has been registered based on Majhi’s statement and efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits.
