Bhubaneswar: Four people were injured in a collision between a truck and a bus carrying pipes on National Highway No 26 near Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district, on Wednesday.
The injured have been identified as Geeta Bhatara, Basanti Senapati, Ananta Senapati, and Debendra Behera.
According to reports, a private bus, traveling from Sambalpur to Damanjodi, collided head-on with a truck carrying pipes from Karnataka to Rayagada. Following the collision, the bus veered off the road, fell into a ditch and overturned.
While 26 passengers were pulled from the bus, four sustained injuries. Papadahandi police, alerted to the scene, promptly arrived and transported the injured to the Papadahandi Community Health Center (CHC) for medical attention.
An investigation into the incident has been launched by the police and further details are awaited.
