Bhubaneswar: The ongoing dispute among the servitors of the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar has been successfully resolved, informed Khurda District Magistrate (DM) Chanchal Rana after a meeting of the Temple’s Trust Board on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media, the District Magistrate confirmed that the disagreement, which had disrupted the temple’s rituals, was settled during the Trust Board meeting.
“The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) has been instructed to submit a detailed report within 24 hours. Based on this report, strict action will be taken against those found responsible for the disruption. Accused servitors will be served show-cause notices, and action will be initiated under Section 32 of the Trust Board regulations,” said Collector Rana.
Chief of Brahmana Nijog Biranchi Narayan Pati, expressed satisfaction with the proceedings, stating, “The Collector assured us that the reports will be submitted within 24 hours to identify those who halted the rituals and the reasons behind their actions. Additionally, the Collector promised to cancel land allocations for servitors involved in the dispute, as per Section 68 of the Trust Board regulations.”
