Berhampur: A Navy officer from Odisha’s Ganjam district, Acting Leading Communicator (AGL Com.) Saurabh Kumar Patra (25), has been missing since Sunday after he left home for Kochi.
Saurabh had joined the Navy in 2019 and is posted at the Kochi Naval base. He was in Berhampur on a brief vacation on December 28.
According to a complaint lodged by Amulya Jena with the Berhampur Town police on Wednesday, his nephew had left home on Sunday for his workplace and went missing after that. Saurav, a resident of Gate Bazar in Berhampur, boarded a train for Vishakhapatnam on Sunday to take a flight to Kochi. However, he did not reach Kochi and or his workplace at the INS Garuda in Kochi Naval base. Even his phone was switched off and his last mobile location was Vishakhapatnam.
Unable to locate trace Saurabh’s whereabouts, his family members contacted his relatives, the Navy base in Kochi and searched all possible places for him but in vain. Now, they fear that Saurabh might have been kidnapped. The worried family members have requested the police and the Navy to help in tracing the whereabouts of Saurabh.
