Jajpur: A biker was killed, and his two pillion riders were critically injured when a speeding truck hit their bike on National Highway-16 near Sathipur under Panikoili police limits in Jajpur district this evening.
The deceased has been identified as Pramod Behera of Jajpur Town, while the injured have been identified as Trilochan Behera and Gadadhar Behera, both residents of the Pritipur area. The three, who are reportedly relatives, were traveling together for some work when the accident occurred.
According to reports, the truck hit their bike near Sathipur, killing Pramod on the spot. Trilochan and Gadadhar sustained critical injuries and were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. Their condition remains serious.
Upon receiving information, Panikoili police arrived at the scene, seized the body for post-mortem, and facilitated the transportation of the injured to the hospital. The police also impounded the bike and the truck involved in the accident.
Tension prevailed in the area as locals demanded compensation for the family of the deceased and the injured.
