Bhubaneswar: The Similipal National Park authorities have introduced a new rule for visitors, effective from February 1. As per the new rule, tourists will have to apply online in advance to visit the park.

Earlier, tourists could obtain offline permits from Pithabata and Jashipur to visit the park. However, from February 1, tourists will have to apply online through the park’s official websites such as https://www.similipal.org and https://www.ecotourodisha.com.

The new rule aims to streamline the entry process and manage the crowd more efficiently. Visitors are advised to plan their trip and apply online to avoid any inconvenience.

Notably, UNESCO added this national park to its list of biosphere reserves. In 1994, the Government of India declared Simlipal as a biosphere reserve. In 1979, the Simlipal was declared as a wildlife sanctuary by the Government of Odisha.
