Dharmagarh (Kalahandi): In a shocking and tragic incident, a youth allegedly hacked his uncle and aunt to death with an axe on Saturday over a strained family relationship at Karli village under the Golamunda police limits in Kalahandi district.
The deceased have been identified as Budu Bag and Sajane Bag. Police have detained the accused, identified as Basanta Bag, and are interrogating him.
According to reports, Budu Bag of Karli village had a strained relationship with his younger brother’s family.
On Saturday morning, Budu had an altercation with his nephew, Basanta. Enraged, Basanta fetched an axe from his house and, without any apparent provocation, brutally attacked Budu and Sajane, killing them on the spot.
Upon being informed, Golamunda police arrived at the scene, seized the bodies of the deceased, and recovered the weapon of offence—the axe. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and the police are questioning the accused to determine the exact motive behind the murder.
