Kuanramunda: A 15-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself after his mother allegedly asked him not to play games on his mobile phone at Chardihariharapur village under Kuanramunda police station in Sundargarh district, on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Dinabandhu, son of Surendra Kisan of Chardihariharapur.

According to reports, Dinabandhu was playing mobile games when his mother, who was upset with him for not studying for his upcoming board exams, scolded him. Unable to bear the scolding, Dinabandhu took the extreme step.

After some time, he locked himself in his study room and did not come out. When the door remained closed for a long time, family members suspected something was amiss and broke open the door to find his body hanging.
