Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has strongly condemned the remarks made by Congress MP Sonia Gandhi against President Droupadi Murmu.

Majhi stated that Sonia Gandhi’s comments reflect her feudal attitude and are an insult to the entire Santali tribe of Odisha. He demanded an apology from the Congress, emphasizing that people will not accept such behaviour.

Majhi further alleged that since President Murmu’s appointment from the Dalit community, the Congress has become intolerant. He criticized Sonia Gandhi for considering herself above the nation.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling echoed similar sentiments, condemning Sonia Gandhi’s remarks as unacceptable in a civilized society. He demanded an unconditional apology from her.

Meanwhile, BJP Mahila Morcha held a protest at Master Canteen in Bhubaneswar, demanding an apology from Sonia Gandhi. The protest saw activists raise slogans against her and burn her effigies.

The controversy erupted after Sonia Gandhi commented on President Murmu’s address ahead of the Budget session, saying the President appeared tired and could hardly speak towards the end of her speech
