Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths unearthed one multi-stories building, four high value plots, gold jewellery weighing approximately 300 grams, cash to the tune of Rs 1.55 crore (counting still underway), etc during searches on properties linked to Santanu Mohapatra, Deputy Director & Project Director, Watershed, Malkangiri, on Wednesday
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Mohapatra and his family members:
- One triple storeyed residential building with area approx 6000 Sqft at Jeypore town in Koraput.
- Four high value plots in Bhubaneswar and Jeypore town.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/ plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
Bank, Insurance, other deposits and investments etc are being ascertained.
Searches are still continuing and further reports are awaited. Simultaneous vigilance raids are underway at 8 places, including the Mohapatra’s residence, to uncover disproportionate assets amassed by several officers of the Malkangiri Watershed Project.
Raids are also underway at the houses of Mohan Mandal, Bisan Mandal and Amiya Sahu, other employees of the Malkangiri Watershed Project.
The simultaneous house searches are being led by 2 Additional SPs, 4 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 6 ASIs, and other supporting staff of Odisha Vigilance on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore, at seven locations in Malkangiri, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
