Bhubaneswar: The Indian and England cricket teams are scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar on February 7 for the One-Day International (ODI) match at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9.
Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh stated that elaborate arrangements have been made for the teams’ accommodation at a star hotel.
Following a high-level security meeting, Commissioner Singh confirmed that the teams will travel to Cuttack for net practice on February 8 under tight security.
The Twin City Police Commissioner reviewed the extensive security arrangements for the international match, which include the deployment of 50 platoon forces.
Senior police officers will inspect the security arrangements, and route lining has been prepared to manage traffic. The Commissionerate Police is fully prepared to ensure the smooth conduct of the match and the security of the players.
This ODI match marks the return of international cricket to the Barabati Stadium after a five-year hiatus. Cricket enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the high-voltage match, and preparations are in the final stages.
A review meeting was held at Police Seva Bhawan, attended by senior officers, representatives from the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), hotel staff, airport authorities, and senior officers of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
