Cuttack: A leopard was spotted roaming on a road connecting Jaypur to Narasinghpur in Cuttack district last night. The video, which was recorded on a mobile phone, shows the wild animal walking calmly on the road, causing panic among locals.
According to reports, the sighting of the tiger has caused widespread panic in the area, with locals fearing for their safety.
Forest department authorities are keeping a close watch on the tiger’s movement and taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of humans.
Earlier, a rare melanistic leopard with a cub was spotted in a forest in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on January 3, 2025. The leopard’s images were captured with the help of a camera trap installed in the forest.
It is pertinent to mention that the All Odisha Leopard Estimation-2024 has revealed that the state has the presence of melanistic leopards in three forest divisions.
