Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cricket Association’s (OCA) efforts to ensure fair ticket distribution for the upcoming cricket match between India and England on February 9 at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack have been undermined by the emergence of black market tickets. Unfortunately, some individuals are allegedly taking advantage of fans by selling tickets at inflated prices on social media platforms like Facebook and Olx. This has left many supporters feeling frustrated and disappointed.
The OCA had made tickets available at the counter, but the overwhelming demand led to long queues, leaving some fans empty-handed. Despite the association’s best efforts, the scarcity of tickets has created an opportunity for unauthorized sellers to exploit eager fans.
As per reports, the OCA had sold tickets at the counter yesterday, but due to high demand and limited availability, many fans were unable to purchase tickets. Today, despite the counter sales being closed, some fans were seen gathering outside the stadium, hoping to get their hands on tickets.
Meanwhile, black marketeers are taking advantage of the situation, selling tickets at inflated prices. The OCA has not commented on the matter, but fans are urging the association to take action against the black marketeers and ensure fair ticket distribution.
