Bhubaneswar: Two separate road accidents in in Rayagada and Sambalpur districts resulted in the loss of three lives and left nine others injured. The incidents occurred at Gulmundapaka near Gunupur in Rayagada district and near Kulundi in the Sambalpur district.
As per reports, three labourers met a tragic end at Gulmundapaka near Gunupur in Rayagada after a tractor, heavily loaded with bricks, lost balance and tipped over on the main road.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
On the other hand, the tractor’s driver and three others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Gunpur Hospital.
Police, meanwhile, rushed to the spot and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
In a separate incident, a newlywed couple and four others were injured when a car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 53 near Kulundi in Sambalpur district, on Friday.
According to reports, the couple, Sumit Modi and his bride, were travelling from Sambalpur to Deogarh after their wedding on Thursday night. The accident occurred while they were on their way to Deogarh.
The injured have been rushed to Sambalpur Hospital for treatment. Police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.
