Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education (S&ME) Minister Nityananda Gond has expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for increasing the salaries of junior teachers (schematic) in primary schools under the Samagra Shiksha initiative.

Minister Gond, in a post on social media platform X, thanked the Chief Minister for the decision, stating that it would empower educators and strengthen primary education in the state.

The School and Mass Education Department issued a notification today, announcing that the monthly remuneration of schematic junior teachers has been increased from ₹11,000 to ₹16,000. Previously, these teachers at the primary and upper primary levels were receiving a monthly remuneration of ₹11,100 under the Samagra Shiksha program.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had approved the proposal to increase the monthly remuneration for this category of teachers on January 16, 2025.

This move is expected to bring qualitative improvement in primary education and will benefit 13,740 teachers across the state.
