Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) launched the Sankalpa Padayatra from Bhubaneswar to Puri on Tuesday.
The march aims to reconnect with old party leaders and workers and strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
OPCC President Bhakta Charan Das has formed a special committee for this, led by former MLA Debasis Patnaik.
He stated that the Sankalpa Padayatra began at 10 am on Tuesday from Biju Patnaik International Airport.
“We will then proceed to Shishu Bhavan, Rajmahal, Kalpana, and Ravi Talkies Square before reaching Lingipur by 1 pm. After a lunch break, we will start again from Lingipur and head towards Pipili, where we will spend the night,” he said.
He further mentioned that the padayatra will resume from Chandanpur on February 20.
“After spending the night in Chandanpur on the way to Puri and having lunch at ‘Bata Mangala,’ the newly appointed OPCC President Bhakta Charan Das will visit the Lord Jagannath Temple to seek blessings,” he added.
Additionally, he stated, “After returning from the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, the OPCC President will address the media.”
