Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the recent tragic incident at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a deemed-to-be university in Bhubaneswar, the Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha has taken swift action to address the concerns of affected students and their families.

The department has established a 24*7 help desk to ensure the safety, security, and academic well-being of students impacted by the incident.

The unfortunate death of a student at the private institution and the subsequent actions taken by the university have raised serious concerns.

To address these issues, the Higher Education Department has appointed Kali Prasanna Mohapatra, Director of Higher Education, as the Nodal Officer for the help desk. He will be assisted by Dr. Rajata Manasingh, Deputy Director, along with a team of nine personnel who will manage the help desk round the clock.

The help desk, which has already become operational, aims to facilitate the safe return of students to the institution and address any issues related to their personal well-being and academic interests.

The department has also provided dedicated contact details for the help desk, including phone numbers and a WhatsApp number, to ensure easy access for students and parents.

Contact Details of the Help Desk:

  • Phone: 0674-2396550, 0674-2323401, 0674-2323402, 0674-2323403
  • WhatsApp: 9124620605

The Higher Education Department has urged all affected students and parents to reach out to the help desk for assistance with their early return to the institution or any other concerns.

The Help Desk will also reach out to students and facilitate their early return or any other issue relating to their personal well-being. All affected students and their parents have been requested to reach out to the Help Desk for early return to the Institution for their academic pursuit.
