HSC Exam

Bhubaneswar: With the annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination set to begin in Odisha on Friday, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has put stringent measures in place to prevent malpractice and question paper leaks.

According to official sources, a total of 5,12,437 students will appear for the Class X exams, which will be conducted at 3,029 centres across 30 districts of the state. The examination will commence on February 21 and continue till March 6.

On the first day, students will write their First Language paper, which includes Odia, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, or Alternative English.

To ensure the integrity of the examination process, 314 nodal centres have been set up, and CCTV cameras with Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities have been installed at both exam centres and nodal centres for strict surveillance.

A four-tier squad system has been deployed to monitor and curb malpractice, while a centralized control room at the BSE headquarters will oversee real-time proceedings through live streaming. Board officials will supervise exam operations remotely to maintain transparency.

Each question paper has been assigned a unique serial number, allowing authorities to track any potential leaks. The question papers were dispatched to examination centres on February 12 and reached their respective destinations by February 19 under tight security.

The evaluation process is scheduled to begin on March 19, with designated nodal centres in each district ensuring smooth conduct of the examination and assessment procedures.
