Bhubaneswar: To ensure no eligible farmer is left out, the Odisha government has successfully included 3,43,447 additional beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme through a special saturation drive.
This initiative was taken following Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s announcement to identify and include farmers who were previously excluded despite being eligible for the scheme.
“The Chief Minister had announced a special drive to identify and include eligible beneficiaries who were left out of PM-KISAN. As a result of our saturation drive, 3,43,447 more farmers will now receive the benefits of the scheme compared to last time,” informed Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment addressing reporters in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
To streamline the process and ensure transparency, the Agriculture Department has developed a dedicated online portal. Farmers who were excluded from PM-KISAN or the state’s CM-KISAN scheme, despite being eligible, can now apply online for inclusion. This digital initiative aims to simplify the application process and reduce delays in beneficiary identification.
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched by the Central Government, provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers in three installments.
