Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of Odisha issued notices to Deepali Das, the daughter of late Health Minister Naba Das, and her brother Bishal, asking them to appear before the investigating agency in the first week of March.
The notice was issued in connection with the ongoing investigation into the assassination of Naba Das, who was shot dead by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gopal Das on January 29, 2023, in Brajaraj Nagar in Jharsuguda district.
According to reports, Deepali and Bishal have been asked to appear before the Crime Branch to provide any clarification they may have regarding the case. The agency has also informed them that they can share any concerns or apprehensions regarding the case.
Vinaytosh Mishra, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the Crime Branch, has meanwhile confirmed that the investigation into the assassination of Naba Das is still ongoing. This development comes after Dipali, Naba Das’s daughter, requested the state government to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
