Jharsuguda: In a significant development, IndiGo on Saturday commenced daily direct flight services from Jharsuguda to Mumbai, connecting the industrial city of Odisha to the financial capital of India.
The inaugural flight landed at Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda on afternoon.
According to the schedule, the IndiGo flight will depart from Mumbai at 10:55 am and arrive in Jharsuguda at 1:00 pm. The return flight will depart from Jharsuguda at 2:00 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 4:15 pm. The flight services will be available seven days a week.
IndiGo’s Airbus A320 aircraft, with a seating capacity of approximately 180 passengers, will operate on the Jharsuguda-Mumbai route. Although the final schedule has not been released yet, there is a possibility of changes to the timings in the future.
With this development, Jharsuguda is now connected to major metro cities like New Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru via air, making it easily accessible to travellers. The city’s improved air connectivity is expected to boost economic growth and tourism in the region.
Other airlines, such as Star Air and Alliance Air, also operate flights from Jharsuguda to destinations like Hyderabad, Raipur, and Lucknow. With the addition of this new route, passengers can expect improved connectivity and more convenient travel options.
