Odisha Scorches: 11 Places Record More Than 37°C Temperature; Titilagarh Hottest At 38.5°C

Bhubaneswar: With the onset of March, the State is experiencing heat wave as the mercury continues to soar. Titilagarh became the hottest place today, recording the highest temperature of 38.5°C. As many as 11 cities in Odisha recorded temperatures of 37°C or more, weather scientist Umashankar Dash said.

Titilagarh’s scorching temperature of 38.5°C was followed closely by Jharsuguda at 38.2°C, Balangir at 38°C, Sonepur and Angul at 37.7°C, Sambalpur at 37.6°C, Sundergarh at 37.5°C, Bhawanipatna at 37.2°C, Hirakud at 37.1°C, and Boudh and Baripada at 37°C.

In contrast, the State capital Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a relatively lower temperature of 34.2°C. The heat wave is expected to continue in the coming days, with residents advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe.

The IMD said no large change in minimum and maximum temperature for the next 4-5 days over the districts of Odisha.
