Odisha Govt Announces Recruitment For Shree Jagannath Temple Security Force

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a notification for the recruitment of the Swatantra Shree Mandir Surakshya Vahini (SSMSV) to strengthen security at the sacred Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

According to a notification from the Home Department, a total of 1,083 positions will be filled across various ranks and roles.

The recruitment process includes the appointment of one Commandant from the State Armed Cadre, along with two Deputy Commandants and ten Assistant Commandants. There will also be vacancies for eight Inspectors and 31 Sub-Inspectors. Additionally, 24 Assistant Sub-Inspectors and other positions will be filled.

Other roles from the State Cadre of Civil Police include one Sub-Inspector, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, one Sub-Inspector (Armourer), one Havildar (Armourer), two Assistant Armourers, one Sub-Inspector (Communication), and four Assistant Sub-Inspectors (Communication).

From the State PMT Cadre, the recruitment will include one Sub-Inspector (MT), nine Driver Havildars, and 18 Drivers.

The recruitment drive will also include 240 Havildars and 720 Sepoys from the battalion cadre.

The positions of Chief Clerk, Senior Clerk, and Senior Stenographer will be filled from the DPO cadre.

The entire recruitment process will be overseen by a Committee led by the Additional Director General of Police.

Other important members of the committee include the Inspector General of Police, DIG Central Range, and the Superintendent of Police of Puri.

The Director General of Police will also nominate additional members, including those with the ranks of Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, Superintendent of Police, or Commandant.
