Baripada: In a gruesome incident, a youth allegedly beheaded his father with a sharp weapon at Chandua village under Chandua police jurisdiction in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused, identified as Danga Singh, also attacked his mother and younger brother.
According to sources, the incident occurred late Monday night following a family dispute. The accused Danga Singh, reportedly suffering from mental health issues, attacked his father, Baidhara Singh, with a sharp weapon, beheading him. After killing his father, the accused reportedly carried his father’s severed head and fled the scene.
Upon being informed, a police team rushed to the spot to ascertain the reason behind the gruesome murder.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder was committed over a family dispute, police said, adding that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the accused son.
