Jajpur: As many as four persons sustained injuries due to an explosion during the manufacturing of firecrackers at Jalapura village under Sadar police station in Jajpur district on Thursday.
The injured include two minors and two elderly persons. The condition of two of the injured is reported to be critical, and they have been admitted to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
As per reports, the illegal fireworks factory was being operated from a residential house owned by Pitabas Pati. The owner’s son was also involved in manufacturing fireworks.
Kanhu Charan, an assistant of 108 ambulance, said, “We got a call around noon and rushed to the mishap spot. Before our arrival, the critically injured persons were taken to the hospital. We took the other two injured to the hospital.
Meanwhile, one among the four injured has been shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
