Balasore: A man allegedly hacked his minor son to death in an inebriated condition at Narama village under Khaira police limits in Balasore district last night.
According to reports, the accused Jogendra Singh, a resident of Nedam village under the Udala police station in Mayurbhanj district, quarreled with his wife, Muni Singh, last night. When their elder son Rajesh Singh tried to intervene and defend his mother, Jogendra attacked him with a sharp weapon, inflicting serious injuries on his chest.
Rajesh was rushed to the nearest hospital in Oupada, but due to the absence of doctors, he was shifted to the Soro hospital, where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, the accused father, Jogendra, is absconding, and police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.
