Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded the highest temperature of the season in Odisha today, with Jharsuguda emerging as the hottest place at a scorching 41.4 degrees Celsius.
Other parts of the state also experienced extremely high temperatures, with Hirakud recording 40.1 degrees Celsius, Sambalpur at 40 degrees Celsius, and Rourkela at 39.5 degrees Celsius, Weather scientist Umashankar Dash informed.
Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius, while Chandbali and Balasore recorded 38 degrees Celsius and 37.5 degrees Celsius, respectively. Keonjhar was the coolest among these places, but still recorded a temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius.
