Srimandir Parikrama Project: OBCC Directed To Complete Pending Works

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC) and other agencies involved in the Srimandir Parikrama Project have been directed to complete pending works at the earliest.

Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee informed after a meeting presided over by Gajapati Maharaj Divya Singh Dev in Puri, which focused on various ongoing and pending projects.

The meeting was attended by various culture experts, intellectuals, experts and officials.

After the meeting, the experts visited the proposed site for the Shree Jagannath Cultural Centre and Raghunandan Library. Padhee said that the government will be informed about these ambitious projects. The team also inspected the Gundicha temple, emphasizing the construction of the Rosa Ghara (Gundicha temple kitchen). Work on this project is set to begin after Niledri Bije, with the goal of completion by the 2026 Rath Yatra, he pointed out.

Additionally, the OBCC has been instructed to expedite work on the Shree Jagannath Ballava Parking place and Shree Jagannath Pramoda Udyan (pleasure garden of Lord). Discussions were also held regarding Homa Yajna, Anna Yajna, Jnana Yajna, and Nama Yajna around the Parikrama Project.

The temple administration will prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) for spiritual activities around the Parikrama Project, outlining which activities will be permitted. Experts advised adhering to Vedic rituals during project implementation, Padhee added.
