Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted severe heat wave conditions in several districts of Odisha from March 14 to 18. A yellow warning has been issued and people are advised to be aware of the extreme temperatures.
According to the IMD, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in districts such as Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Mayurbhanj. Heat wave conditions are also expected in Sundargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Kalahandi, and Gajapati.
Warm nights are likely in districts such as Sundargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, and Malkangiri, while hot and humid conditions are expected in Khurda, Puri, Jajpur, and other coastal districts.
The IMD has issued specific warnings for each day:
– March 15: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Mayurbhanj.
– March 16: Heat wave conditions in Sundargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, and warm nights in Bolangir, Boudh, and Sundargarh.
– March 17: Heat wave conditions in Boudh and Sonepur, and warm nights in Boudh and Sonepur.
– March 18: Heat wave conditions in Boudh and Sambalpur, and hot and humid conditions in coastal districts.
