Two Tug Vessels Arrested At Paradip Port Over Maritime Dispute

Paradip: Two tug vessels were arrested at Paradip Port due to issues related to a maritime contract and commercial dispute.

The arrest was carried out in the presence of Kujanga Sub-Judge Chinmayee Panda, as per the directives of the High Court. The case involves a claim of ₹428 crores filed by Alphard Maritime Limited regarding the sale and purchase of seven tug vessels.

The two vessels, Ocean Jade and Ocean Morganite, were passing near Paradip Port when the company sought their immediate arrest. The vessels will remain detained at the port until the next hearing, scheduled for April 30.

Following the arrest, Kujanga Sub-Judge Chinmayee Panda ordered both vessels to be moved to the port’s anchorage.
