Eight Odisha Districts Likely To Be Hit By Thunderstorms & Rain In Next Three Hours

Bhubaneswar: Moderate thunderstorms with gusty wind speeds reaching 40-60 kmph and light to moderate rain are likely to affect Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Cuttack (including Cuttack city) districts within the next three hours, according to the India Meteorological Department.

Under its impact, minor damage to structures, trees, and standing crops may occur. Residents are advised to stay alert and move to safer places if necessary.

Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for Angul, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city), Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Malkangiri and other districts. These districts are likely to experience, light to moderate thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds within the next three hours. People are advised to be cautious and protect themselves from lightning strikes, said the nowcast release issued by the weather office.
