Over 5K Students Trained In Computer Education At NIELIT Bhubaneswar In Last 4 Years: Minister

Bhubaneswar: A total of 5,052 students have been trained in computer education at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Bhubaneswar in the past four years, as informed by the Electronics & Information Technology Minister Mukesh Mahaling in the state assembly on Monday.

Responding to a query from Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, Minister Mahaling provided details on the courses offered during this period.

He mentioned that non-formal courses, including IT O Level and CHMO Level (both one-year courses), were imparted to 940 students.

Additionally, other courses in emerging sectors, digital literacy workshops, and skill development short-term courses such as CCC, Foundation Course in IoT, and Machine Learning (all under 200 hours) were conducted for 4,112 students between January 2022 and February 2025.

Minister Mahaling further informed that, out of the trained students, around 65 have been appointed to jobs in the past year. Currently, there are six approved regular employees working at the NIELIT Bhubaneswar training center.
