Bhubaneswar: A total of 120 employees have been dismissed from government service in Odisha over the past five years, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the state assembly on Monday.
In a written response to a question by Rajanagar MLA Dhruba Charan Sahoo, the Chief Minister revealed that 120 employees were dismissed from their positions.
Additionally, 39 government officers were forced into premature retirement due to their involvement in corruption.
The Vigilance Department also seized ill-gotten assets worth Rs 59.47 crore (Rs 59,47,84,981) from officials apprehended by the anti-corruption wing.
The Chief Minister further provided detailed year-wise data regarding the employees and officers who had either taken compulsory retirement, premature retirement, or were dismissed from government service between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2024.
