Gold Jewellery & Cash Worth Rs 80 Lakh Meant For Marriage Looted In Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Miscreants looted a whopping Rs 80 lakh in cash and gold from a house at the Jahangirabad village under Salepur block in Cuttack district.

The incident occurred last night when four armed robbers broke into the house of Bijay Mohanty by breaking the roof and threatening the family members at gunpoint.

According to reports, Mohanty had stored the cash and gold, worth around Rs 80 lakh, for his daughter’s wedding. They threatened the family members at gunpoint and made off with gold jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh and cash worth Rs 30 lakh.

Salepur police have launched an investigation into the incident based on a complaint filed by Mohanty.
