Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted a gradual increase in temperature in Odisha over the next five days, with the heat wave expected to return by March 29. Currently, the temperature is 2 to 3 degrees below normal, but it is likely to rise and cross 40 degrees in some areas.
A heat wave warning has been issued for Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Balangir, and Kalahandi districts on March 29. The weather agency has cautioned that the temperature will increase again, and the weather will remain very dry for the next seven days.
Manorma Mohanty, Director of the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre, reported that light to moderate rain has been observed in some parts of coastal Odisha in the last 24 hours. The highest temperature was recorded in Malkangiri at 36.8 degrees, with temperatures above 35 degrees recorded in nine places across the state.
