Odisha Sizzles As Bhubaneswar, Five Other Places Record 40°C Plus Temperature

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing a severe heat wave, with temperatures soaring to unprecedented heights. Today, the mercury surged to a staggering 43 degrees Celsius in Jharsuguda, marking the highest maximum temperature of the season.

According to weather scientist Umashankar Dash, six places recorded temperatures above 40°C. Jharsuguda emerged as the hottest place, with a maximum temperature of 43°C.

Sambalpur followed closely, recording a temperature of 41.6°C, while Hirakud recorded 41.2°C. Rourkela and Chandbali both recorded temperatures of 40.4°C, and Bhubaneswar, the state capital, recorded 40.2°C.

Other parts of the state also experienced high temperatures, with Balasore recording 39°C, Keonjhar recording 38.1°C.
