Balasore: Baliapal Police in Balasore district on Saturday arrested Sub-Inspector (SI) Bijay Sahu, posted with the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Odisha Police, for allegedly deceiving his girlfriend under the pretext of marriage.
According to reports, Sahu, a native of Bada Talapada village under Baliapal police limits, had been in a relationship with the victim and maintained a physical relationship with her after promising to marry her.
However, after joining the SOG and being posted in Malkangiri for training, he allegedly backed out of his commitment, leading to a police complaint.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, the Baliapal Police arrested Sahu and produced him before the court.
