Bhubaneswar: In a most unfortunate incident, a miscreant allegedly stole a one-and-a-half-year-old boy from his mother’s lap in front of Ram Mandir on Janpath road near Kharvela Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar last night.
The woman, a visually-challenged beggar, reported the matter to Kharvela Nagar police, following which a special team launched an investigation by examining CCTV cameras. According to the CCTV footage, police are trying to track the boy’s whereabouts.
The woman, who has been begging outside the temple for the last five years, said, “A man followed me from 12 midnight to 2 AM last night. He offered fruit juice to my son, who drank one after another. Then he played with my son, showing him a mobile video. Then, he took my son away.”
She added, “That person had never come to me in the past. I request everyone to help me find my son. I am completely broken down after my son’s disappearance. I just informed the police.”
