Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for 17 districts in Odisha, predicting thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in the next three hours.
IMD has issued an orange warning to Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur districts.
These districts are likely to witness moderate thunderstorms with gusty surface winds reaching 40-50 km/h within three hours, according to nowcast warning issued at 1 PM.
Besides, the regional weather office has alerted Koraput, Rayagada, Khordha, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Cuttack districts and issued yellow warning for light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph.
