Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee will gherao the office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bhubaneswar as part of the party’s nationwide protest against the ED’s charge-sheet against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, which they term as vendetta politics.
PCC president Bhakta Charan Das urged all Congress workers and leaders in the state to stage a protest in every district headquarters at 11 AM on Wednesday.
“Protesting the charge sheet, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee will stage a dharna in front of the ED office in Bhubaneswar tomorrow. I request all district presidents, former MLAs, MPs, and local leaders to stage a protest outside any central government office, like a post office or IT office, in their respective districts,” the PCC chief said.
“Every Congress worker knows that the Union Government led by Narendra Modi has filed a charge-sheet against our top leaders, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, in the National Herald case. The National Herald is our own organization, which was running in adherence to norms and policies. The government has initiated this act to defame and insult the Gandhi family and out of fear of the Congress workers’ nationwide protest for justice to common people,” Das added.
