Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for Khordha district, including Bhubaneswar city, predicting moderate thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 40-50 kmph within the next two hours. The weather office has issued an orange warning to Khordha district.
Besides, the regional weather office has issued a yellow warning to Puri district, expecting light to moderate thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning within the next three hours.
Nowcast warning has been issued by IMD at 9:15 am.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of Khordha district, potentially causing minor damage to loose or unsecured structures, banana trees, and standing crops.
Residents are advised to keep a close watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be prepared to move to safer places if necessary.
The IMD has urged people to take necessary precautions and protect themselves from lightning strikes.
