Sambalpur: In a heartbreaking incident, a Class 9 student lost his life after being hit by a tractor while returning from school in Sambalpur on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Ayushman Behera, a 14-year-old student of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir located in Dhanupali.
The accident occurred around 10:45 AM, when Ayushman was on his way home from school. According to eyewitnesses, a tractor struck the student, leaving him critically injured on the spot.
Local residents quickly came to his aid and rushed him to the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital. Despite their efforts, doctors declared the boy dead upon arrival.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and sparked concerns over road safety measures near school zones.
