Bhubaneswar: In a proud moment for Odisha, Om Prakash Behera has etched his name in history by securing a perfect 100 percentile score in the JEE Mains exam. This outstanding result is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of his family.
Hailing from the city, Om Prakash attributes his success to the unwavering support and encouragement of his parents, Kamal Kant Behera and Smita Rani Behera, who played a pivotal role in his journey to achieving 100 percentile marks.
According to sources, Smita Rani, a college lecturer, put her career on hold to devote herself to her son’s academic pursuits. For the past three years, she has been on leave and residing in Kota with Om Prakash, providing him with the care and nurturing he needed to excel.
Similarly, Om Prakash’s father Kamal Kant Behera went the extra mile to support his son’s academic endeavours. An officer in the Odisha Administrative Service, Kamal took a deputation in Delhi to be closer to his son and provide him with the necessary guidance and motivation during his crucial preparation phase.
The main mantra of success, according to Om Prakash, is to focus completely on the future rather than repenting for what has passed. He has been preparing for the entrance exam by staying in Kota since class 10. He had also scored 92 per cent marks in the class 10 exams.
Om Prakash said he followed the guidelines given by the faculty during preparation. Om Prakash used to do self-study for about 8 to 9 hours every day. He also distanced himself from mobile phone during his studies as he believed that it distracted his attention.
Om Prakash aiming to do his graduation in Computer Science from IIT Mumbai is an avid reader. He finds time to read novels and play badminton apart from his study schedule.
