During the celebration of Panchayati Raj Divas in Puri, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will distribute new ration cards to eligible beneficiaries, said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
“5.90 cards cannot be distributed in a day or two. So, we have planned to distribute it in phased manner. The distribution process will begin on April 24,” Patra said.
The minister informed that the distribution of ration cards will be done in phases, with the Chief Minister initiating the process in Puri. However, it was noted that around 25 lakh people have not yet completed the E-KYC process, and officers will be deployed to monitor and facilitate this.
The new ration cards will be colourful and laminated, as per the state government’s directive to all district collectors to prepare the cards by April 22. The cards will be distributed to all eligible beneficiaries in a phased manner, following the launch in Puri.
