Bhubaneswar: In a heinous incident, terrorists killed innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi strongly condemned the incident and expressed deep grief over the loss of lives.

An Odia tourist, Prasant Satpathy from Balasore, who had visited the state with his wife and minor son, was killed in the attack.

The Chief Minister has directed the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi to ensure the safe transportation of Satpathy’s body to his residence in Balasore. Anantnag police confirmed Satpathy’s death in a telephonic call to his relative in Balasore. However, the local police have no information about Satpathy’s wife and 11-year-old son, who accompanied him on the trip.

The police in Jammu are currently in possession of Satpathy’s body. Following the terror attack, Anantnag police issued a helpline number and established a 24/7 help desk to assist tourists. The police control room in Anantnag can be reached at 9596777669, 01932225870, or via WhatsApp at 9419051940. Satpathy’s relative contacted the helpline and was informed about his death.
