Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday met with Koraput Collector V. Keerthi Vasan at Lok Seva Bhawan to congratulate him for the district’s recognition with the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
The award was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Vasan during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi earlier this week.
During the meeting, CM Majhi lauded the efforts of Vasan and his team, describing the award as a testament to Odisha’s commitment to inclusive development.
V. Keerthi Vasan, a 2018-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, took charge as the Collector and District Magistrate of Koraput following his recent transfer. Prior to this, he served as Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Ganjam. His focus on effective governance and public service delivery has been instrumental in securing national recognition for the district.
Under his leadership, Koraput has made significant progress in areas such as healthcare, education, infrastructure development, and the integration of technology in governance. The award underscores the district’s strides in improving quality of life and citizen engagement through innovative practices.
Officials stated that the recognition not only honors individual excellence but also highlights the success of collaborative governance at the district level.
